Southern Style Holiday Cheer Coming with Carolina Opry’s Christmas Special
Myrtle Beach is a great place to be during the holidays—there’s something about Christmas in the south that just seems right. And Carolina Opry has one Christmas tradition that many visitors come back for year after year: The Christmas Show of the South, now in its 28th season.
The show is a high-production value, almost Vegas-like music and dance variety show, but with a decidedly down-home and family-friendly flair. This year, La Toya London, fourth place finalist on season three of American Idol, will join the talented cast with her powerful soul-inspired voice. Joining London onstage will be Carolina Opry favorite cast member Tangena Church.
In addition to the fantastic music, attendees will enjoy jaw-dropping dance numbers by “All That” of NBC’s American’s Got Talent and stunning holiday décor—you’ll think you’ve entered the North Pole!
“Right now, families and groups need light-hearted entertainment more than ever before,” said producer and the founder of the theater, Calvin Gilmore. “We are pulling out all the stops to make this the most amazing, funny, warm and wonderful show ever.”
The Carolina Opry Christmas show in Myrtle Beach runs Nov. 1, 2013 through Jan. 4, 2013 with both evening performances and matinees. Tickets are $21.50-$46.47. More information is available at www.thecarolinaopry.com.
