New Year’s Eve is a time for celebrating one year drawing to a close while a new one is just beginning. As 2016 comes to an end, Myrtle Beach will be hopping with all sorts of good times, and guests at North Beach Plantation can choose from among plenty of options for ringing in 2017. Here are five top picks for places to spend your New Year’s Eve in Myrtle Beach!

A Southern Times Square: If you’re looking for that New York-esque experience in your New Year’s Eve, then head over to The Market Common for their New Year’s Eve street party. A live stream of the Times Square celebration will be on the jumbo screen, but there will be so much action going on around you that you won’t feel like you’re missing a thing! Two stages will feature live music performances, so you can dance in the streets all night long. Additional entertainment on tap includes human statues and mimes, glass blowers, face painting and glitter tattoos, and the night will close with a fantastic fireworks display. There will be a beer garden serving drinks, and food vendors from local restaurants will offer their fare. This is a family-friendly event — there will be inflatable bounce houses for the kids, and strollers are permitted in the event area. However, to ensure everyone’s safety, backpacks and large purses will not be allowed — so if you need to bring a bag of items for young children, be sure to pack them in a clear plastic bag so they will be permitted through security. There will be plenty of free parking, and the party starts at 9 p.m.

New Year’s Eve All-Night Skate: Another fun family event is the all-night skating party at the Fun Warehouse. The admission fee of $30 per person includes a ride in their brand-new electric go carts, an action-packed game of laser tag, a pizza dinner and donuts for breakfast the next morning, a midnight balloon drop, and prizes being given out all night long — all in addition to the roller skating. This event is open to kids and kids-at-heart who are 10 years or older, and it runs from 7 p.m. on New Year’s Eve through 7 a.m. on Jan. 1.

Rock in the New Year: What needs to be said about the classic New Year’s Eve celebration being held at Broadway at the Beach Celebrity Square? This concert-style event will be a wild rockin’ ride into the New Year, complete with loud music, lots of drinks, confetti cannons and balloons, and complimentary appetizers. Tickets can be purchased in advance, and a VIP package that includes a three-course meal and champagne on a private balcony is available. Doors open at 9:30 p.m.

New Year’s Eve Cruise: If you’re looking for a change of pace from the usual end-of-year celebration, you can spend New Year’s Eve sailing on the Big “M” Casino’s Ship I luxury casino cruise ship. There will be a band performing on the top deck, a buffet and cash bar, and complimentary champagne served at midnight. The cruise boards at 5:30 p.m. and sails from 6:30 p.m. to 12:30 a.m. Space is limited for this event, so don’t wait to book your spot.

Corey Smith Live Performance: Country music fans do not want to miss the opportunity to see Corey Smith’s live concert at House of Blues on New Year’s Eve. Corey is celebrating the release of his latest album, and he is committed to giving his fans a great show. Tickets are available at the House of Blues website.

Whether you’re ringing in the New Year with a wild party or some fun family entertainment, guests at North Beach Plantation are sure to find the perfect way to welcome 2017 in Myrtle Beach. We look forward to ringing in the new year with you!
