A fancy dinner with fine wine is great, and a highlight of any nice vacation. But for breakfast lovers, nothing beats the first meal of the day. Breakfast has so much to offer, from the sweetness of pancakes, waffles and French toast to the savory goodness of eggs and bacon to Southern classics like biscuits and grits. For your best bet on a morning meal, we've compiled some of the best breakfast restaurants in North Myrtle Beach. The hard part is going to be choosing which one (or five!) to try.

Hoskins Restaurant

Opened in 1948 by Hubert and Leona Hoskins, Hoskins has been owned by the same family in the same location for three generations. That makes it a local landmark in our book, and the restaurant draws its share of locals and tourists for the awesome eggs, omelets, hotcakes, biscuits, gravy, breakfast sandwiches and more. Lots to choose from on this menu.

Dino's House of Pancakes

This family owned and operated breakfast fave serves all your classic breakfast dishes with a focus on, you guessed it, pancakes. You definitely won't go hungry here, and some visitors make it a point to return to Dino's year after year. Classic breakfast, friendly service.

Hot Stacks

When it comes to breakfast joints, the name of this one says it all — hot stacks of delicious pancakes, and lots of them, with so many topping choices you may have to come back a second day just to try some more. Hot Stacks also has plenty of other offerings, including traditional Southern breakfast choices like  biscuits with gravy. Yum!

The Shack

For 40 years, The Biscuit Shack was a legend in North Myrtle. When longtime owner Nora “Boots” Jordan passed away in 2009, friends Scott Childers and Todd Fineran bought it and reopened it as The Shack, but with the same Southern food and hospitality that made it such a fine local tradition for so long. The Shack specializes in South Carolina favorites like your Grandma used to make — country ham, sausage, bacon, eggs, toast, biscuits, grits, fried potatoes… The Shack is a great way to start the day.

The Shack

House of Blues

Not just a venue for fine blues, rock and soul music, the House of Blues also has fantastic breakfasts. Monday through Saturday it's your standard classic breakfast menu, but on Sundays, House of Blues offers something really special with its Gospel Brunch experience. Traditional and contemporary gospel musicians perform live and you can enjoy the show while you treat yourself to an all-you-can-eat buffet featuring breakfast favorites, carving stations, southern specialties and even desserts. Signature dish: chicken and waffles! Reservations are recommended.

Windy Hill

Windy Hill Breakfast and Lunch specializes in fine breakfasts and lunches with fresh meals cooked to order using top-notch ingredients and locally grown produce. The family-owned restaurant takes pride in its attention to detail, and breakfast is served any time the restaurant is open. The banana pancakes, we hear, are to die for.
