Celebrating St. Patrick’s Day in North Myrtle Beach

It used to be that St. Patrick’s Day was just for the Irish, but now it has become a holiday for everyone! This holiday has been celebrated the U.S. for centuries, encouraging people to wear green, eat, drink and enjoy an infinite amount of parades.  

Here in North Myrtle Beach we continue the tradition of hosting the annual St. Patrick’s Day parade and festival.

You’ll want to start your day off right by attending the largest parade in the Grand Strand, the 26th Annual St. Patrick’s Day parade and festival. The parade will begin at 9:00 a.m. on Main St., displaying an array of colorful and unique floats. Make sure to get there early and bring your chairs and blankets to watch the parade. Following the parade will be the festival from 11:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m., which will feature a variety of food vendors, games, entertainment, arts and crafts, live music and more.

There will also be a Leprechaun Costume Contest held where participants will be judged on originality, creativity, appearance, enthusiasm and energy. You must be 18 years or older to participant. The grand prize winner will receive honorary title, Festival Leprechaun, a $100 Walmart gift card, recognition to on the St. Patrick’s Day website and a free St. Patrick’s Day t-shirt.
