Summer is coming to an end, and the kids are back in school – but you don’t have to settle into the winter routine just yet. The autumn months are a great time to spend a weekend at North Beach Plantation in North Myrtle Beach. The Grand Strand weather is still beautiful, and there’s a full schedule of fall-festival fun to plan around! Here are a few of our favorite fall festivals in the North Myrtle Beach area:

Make the summer last just a little longer by joining in the Society of Stranders Fall Migration. Quite simply the biggest adult bash of the year, the SOS Fall Migration is a celebration of the laid-back beach lifestyle of the Grand Strand. It serves as a farewell to the summer season – and, of course, a chance to dance the Carolina shag. Don’t know the dance? Don’t worry, there will be instructors available to help you get in on the fun.

The party is centered in the SOS lounges, a grouping of bars and businesses near the intersection of Main Street and Ocean Drive in North Myrtle Beach. The lounges will be hosting special parties, live music and other events for the duration of the Fall Migration, and each one has its own special feel, so it’s worth trying to visit each one.

The Fall Migration lasts 10 days, from September 15 to 24, but if you can only get there for a short time, try to be there on September 17 and 18. On those two days, the party spills out of the lounges and into the streets of North Myrtle Beach to become the biggest block party you’ve ever seen. Come out and party down with a few thousand new friends!

The Endless Summer Festival is a more family-friendly option to prolong your summer fun. Taking over North Myrtle Beach’s Main Street on October 28, the festival will offer vendors with unique specialty crafts and other items for sale, as well as tempting food options and a kids’ area with entertainment and carnival rides. There will also be free live concerts presented all day starting at noon, so grab your beach chairs and make a day of it!

Foodie alert – there are some fall festivals on the Grand Strand just for you connoisseurs of cuisine! The City of North Myrtle Beach will host the Irish Italian International Festival, held rain or shine on North Myrtle Beach’s Main Street on September 30 and celebrating the foods and cultures of Ireland and Italy. Local restaurants will be contributing delectable dishes, and live music and entertainment will be on tap.

The St. John’s Greek Festival will be held on September 28-October 1 at St. John the Baptist Greek Orthodox Church in Myrtle Beach. This annual event is tremendously popular and will feature local and church-sponsored vendors as well as a tantalizing array of authentic Greek delicacies. Foodies will not want to miss this one!

The summer may end eventually, but you can stretch out those golden days just a little longer by planning a weekend getaway at North Beach Plantation. Book your trip now to enjoy some of the great festivals in the North Myrtle Beach area this fall.
