  • What taxes can I expect to pay?
    • 12% tax is calculated after $10/night city and resort fees.
  • What is included in the resort fee?
    • The resort fee is used to cover the cost of the common areas and amenities, such as pool towels, the fitness center, shuffleboard, etc.
  • Do I need a credit card to check in?
    • It is not mandatory to provide a credit card at check-in. However, those making cash payments are required to provide a security deposit in the form of a $100 cash/credit. This amount is refundable at checkout, minus any incidentals.
  • Is there a surcharge to use my credit card for payment?
    • No. There is no additional cost associated with using a credit card.
  • Does the resort provide parking (valet parking/free parking/across-the-street parking)?
    • We have a six-level gated parking garage across the street from the resort.  A room key is required to access the garage in person or in a vehicle.
  • What is the parking garage height clearance?
    • 7 feet high on all levels.
  • What time is check-in and checkout?
    • Check-in is at 3 p.m. If guests arrive sooner, we can complete their registrations, mark their rooms as a priority and contact them as soon as their room becomes available. Checkout is at 11 a.m.
  • Is it possible to check in early? (May we use the facilities before check-in?)
    • When we complete early registration, guests will be given a common area key to access the garage, pools and other amenities. They are also provided with a parking pass, the Sun & Fun brochure, which includes free access to local attractions, the DVD Now rental card, and wristbands to grant access to the pools/games.
  • Do you accommodate late checkout?
    • It is not always possible to allow for late checkouts, so each instance is handled by request on the morning of departure.
  • How do I edit my reservation?
    • You can edit the details of your reservation through our website, or by calling reservations at 855-408-7635.
  • Can I bring my pet?
    • Pets are not allowed at Bay View Resort.
  • How far away is the airport from the resort?
    • We are exactly 3 ½ miles from the airport via US-17 Business
  • Is there a shuttle to and from the airport?
    • Unfortunately, we do not provide a shuttle. However, a taxi ride is approximately $15 one way.
  • Is there a shuttle available to and from the local attractions?
    • We have an electric shuttle car, but for insurance reasons, we can only shuttle guests to and from the parking garage – no other locations.
  • Is Wi-Fi available?
    • Free Wi-Fi is offered and the login information is located on the welcome letter provided at check-in.
  • What are the restaurants at the resort? Do you have room service?
    • The only on-site restaurant we offer is Starbucks, and they do not provide room service.
  • What amenities are offered to guests?
    • Bay View Resort offers the following indoor and outdoor activities: an indoor pool, indoor lazy river, indoor hot tub, indoor kiddie pool, an outdoor splash deck, life-sized chess/checkers, and shuffleboard.  Additionally, each guest is given unlimited free DVD movie rentals (one at a time) through our DVDNow kiosks. DVDNow also provides free admission to several local attractions, which vary, depending on the season/availability.
  • Do you offer a concierge on site?
    • There is a Wyndham Concierge located in our lobby and while the hours vary, the concierge is typically available during the busiest times of the day.\
  • What TV channels are available in the room?
    • Our TVs carry the following channels: ESPN, FOX, WGN, ABC, USA, QVC, HLN, CBS, TV Land, UNC, CW, CSPAN, NBC, PBS, TBS, ABC Family, Discovery Channel, TWC, MTV, Spike TV, Lifetime, A&E, CNN, Nickelodeon, FX, BET, CNBC, TNT, ESPN2, Disney, CMT, Animal Planet, Hallmark Channel, Golf Channel, Ion, Fox News, Fox Sports South, Turner Classic Movies, History Channel, Cartoon Network, and SyFy Channel.
  • Are movies available on site?
    • (See above under Amenities) – DVDNow kiosks offer unlimited access during your visit; you may borrow one movie at a time.
  • Are cots available for rooms?
    • Rollaway cots are against fire code regulations, and therefore not available.
  • Is breakfast provided? If so, from what times? What is the price?
    • While we do not provide breakfast, guests are welcome to purchase items from Starbucks on-site. The prices vary based on the menu items.
  • Do you have hair dryers in the room?
    • Yes, every single bathroom has a wall-mounted hair dryer in it.
  • What newspapers does the resort provide, if any?
    • The Sun News is available for purchase daily in Starbucks.
  • What is the cancellation policy?
    • In the event you must cancel your reservation for any reason, your deposit will be refunded (less than a 10% service charge), provided we are notified 14 days prior to the arrival date. Cancellations made less than 14 days prior to the arrival date are subject to full forfeiture of your deposit. If you need to change your arrival date or change the number of nights on your reservation, please notify us immediately. We cannot guarantee the requested changes will be possible.

  • Is there an iron and ironing board in the room?
    • Yes, there is an iron and ironing board in every single room.
  • What is in the kitchen of a room/efficiency/suite/condo?
    • Standard rooms are equipped with a waist-high fridge, microwave and coffee maker. All other kitchens are equipped with a refrigerator, microwave, stove/oven, toaster and coffee maker.
  • Do you have handicap-accessible rooms?
    • Yes, Bay View Resort’s handicap-accessible rooms include the oceanfront two-bedroom F on the first four floors (rooms 206, 306, 406 & 506), all of which include a roll-in shower in the guest/hallway bathrooms. These rooms are blocked together with all the other OF 2 BR Fs and a request for a handicap-accessible unit CANNOT be guaranteed. We will do everything in our power to honor a request for this type of unit, but availability depends on the circumstances at the time. 
  • How do you rent chairs and umbrellas on the beach?
    • To rent chairs and umbrellas, contact the beach lifeguard closest to the chairs you wish to rent. It is approximately $30/day for the rentals.
  • What are the pool hours?
    • Pool hours run from 9 a.m. to 11 p.m. 365 days per year.
  • Do the units have a stocked mini-fridge?
    • No.  Every unit is equipped with at least a mini-fridge, but none are stocked with food/drinks of any sort.
  • How many parking passes are available per room?
    • Guests are welcome to as many parking passes as they need, but we advertise one per bedroom.
  • Why is there a security deposit? How long will it be until the credit card pre-authorization is released?
    • The security deposit is used to cover damage/incidental charges. If guests paid it in cash, the deposit is returned following an inspection of the room on the day of departure. If it is processed on a credit card, we release the preauthorization on the day of checkout. The financial institution determines how long it will continue to hold the preauthorization, but typically this process takes 5 to 7 banking days.
  • Do the rooms have a washer and dryer?
    • Anything larger than a standard room is equipped with its own washer/dryer. There are no common area laundry services available for guests, but we do sell laundry detergent at the front desk (Tide Pods for $1/each).
  • Are the pools heated?
    • All pools are heated to 80°F and hot tubs to 101°F.
  • Are cribs available?
    • We offer Pack & Plays at no charge on a first-come, first-served basis.
  •  Do any units have a Jacuzzi tub?
    • No, none of our units offer a Jacuzzi tub.
  • Do you offer discounts to area attractions? What attractions are close-by?
    • We have discount tickets to almost all local attractions. The closest attractions to Bay View are Family Kingdom, the SkyWheel, Ripley’s Believe It or Not Museum and the Myrtle Beach Boardwalk.
  • What is the damage waiver fee?  What is included and not included?
    • For a non-refundable $29.95 +tax fee, guests are exempt from accidental damage, such as a torn sofa cushion, spilled wine on the carpet, etc. No willful damage resulting from carelessness (smashed TV, etc) would be excused.
