If you’d prefer a side of music with your morning meal, the Gospel Brunch delivers. Local talent performs traditional and contemporary Gospel music as you savor an all-you-can-eat buffet with carving stations, signature Chicken and Waffles, and mouthwatering desserts. But this isn’t a typical sit-down affair. By the end of the meal, you may find yourself so moved by the music and fun-loving atmosphere that you’re waving a napkin on stage. This toe-tapping good time occurs every Sunday from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Word travels fast, so reservations are recommended.
After a day spent lounging in North Beach Plantation’s luxurious pools, an exciting dinner is the perfect way to end the day. The House of Blues’ Murder Mystery Dinner Theater puts you in the middle of an interactive “whodunit” where everyone is a suspect. Do you have the wits to snoop out the culprit? The best detective may win a prize, but all investigators will delight in the reward of an included three-course meal.
This captivating mystery theater is only the tip of the entertainment iceberg at the House of Blues. The venue was founded to bring the sweet sounds of Rhythm and Blues, Gospel, Jazz and roots-based Rock & Roll to the Grand Strand. It delivers daily with concerts on The Deck or in the one-of-a-kind Concert Hall. The Deck at the House of Blues hosts free live music Monday through Saturday from 7 to 11 p.m. Lounge under the stars by the fire pit and enjoy delicious bites from the Smokehouse. Nothing beats a cold beer or cocktail, great music, and bonding time with family, friends and fellow music lovers on The Deck.
Just beyond The Deck, the unique Concert Hall is sheathed in tin from an authentic tobacco farm in Jackson, Mississippi, and has the ambience of an old Mississippi Delta juke joint. Rumor has it that a box of Mississippi Delta mud is welded to the structure beneath the stage to ensure all performing artists have the spirit of the South beneath their feet. Everyone from tribute bands to big names like the Eli Young Band have rocked out on the hall stage with the spirit of the Mississippi cheering them on.
“Pass the Line” is the best way to get priority entrance to a House of Blues concert. A purchase of $20 or more per person from the restaurant and bar gets music lovers a pass. Or, you can spend your $20 on anything from a travel flask to a T-shirt in the House of Blues Gear Shop – and voila, your receipt is your fast pass into music heaven. However, be sure to call ahead – “Pass the Line” is offered on a show-by-show basis. General admission for the House of Blues Concert Hall is standing room only – this venue is meant for dancing and rocking out. However, VIP seating is available in the balcony.
Whether you’re rocking out in the Concert Hall or meeting characters at breakfast, the House of Blues is a must-visit in Myrtle Beach. After some music for the soul, your high-end accommodations at North Beach Plantation will be ready to welcome you back for a little beach therapy.
