Located just blocks inland from North Beach Plantation on North Kings Highway in North Myrtle Beach, Barefoot Landing is one of the Grand Strand’s top attractions for both locals and vacationers. And the allure comes with good reason — with a whopping 50 retail shops ranging from nationally known brands to regional names and unique mom-and-pop boutiques, as well as more than 15 restaurants, 10 bakeries and treat shops, and a handful of bars/lounges, there’s something for everyone at the coastal shopping/dining/entertainment complex. Add to these wide-ranging choices the facts that the complex sits alongside the Intracoastal Waterway and its shops surround a beautiful, 27-acre lake — then throw in free fireworks shows and other exciting events throughout the year — and the appeal of Barefoot Landing becomes even more understandable.

This season, the lineup of offerings at Barefoot Landing continues to expand, and one new retailer in particular is likely to pique the interest of craft-spirits enthusiasts. Kentucky Mist Moonshine, a distillery based in the Appalachian Mountains of eastern Kentucky with roots in the Prohibition Era, is set to open a tasting bar/gift shop in the complex.

Moonshine varieties offered by the company include the distillery’s traditional “white lightning” moonshine, Corn Mist, as well as a sweeter Mist offering made with sugar cane. The craft distillery’s fruit-flavored moonshines use whole fruits to create genuine tastes, and varieties available include Apple Pie, Caramel Apple and Lemonade, as well as infused moonshine flavors like Cherry, Apple, Blackberry, Cranberry, Grape, Peach and Strawberry. The distillery also produces a line of vodkas, including traditional, barrel-aged and cranberry-flavored varieties. All of the moonshine and vodka varieties are available for purchase in the Kentucky Mist Moonshine gift shop, and other souvenirs offered include T-shirts, mugs, coozies, bottle openers and more.

Other new additions for 2018 at Barefoot Landing include Blueberry's Grill, Faux Paws, lo-kuhl, MyCup, Pure Lure, Savannah Bee Company, Sea & Sand Jewelry, Southern Edge Knife Works, and a new Mexican dining concept from Homegrown Hospitality Group.
