While Georgia’s Augusta National Golf Club may be ground zero for the golfing world during the first full week in April, there’s only one place for the sport’s biggest fans to be on the Monday following – and that’s right here on the Grand Strand. With the 2018 edition of the Monday After the Masters Celebrity Pro-Am set for April 7-9 at North Myrtle Beach’s Barefoot Resort, famed rockers Hootie & the Blowfish will again spotlight the South Carolina coast after the Masters’ green jacket is awarded.

Started in 1994 as a small gathering to raise money for charity, Monday After the Masters has since raised millions of dollars for children’s educational programs in South Carolina while becoming one of the nation’s top celebrity pro-am events. While this year’s lineup of participating celebrities and professional golfers won’t be released until March 15, it’s sure to include a long list of big names.

Past celebrities have included the likes of baseball Hall of Famers Johnny Bench and George Brett; NFL stars Jerome Bettis, Eric Dickerson and John Elway; rock legend Alice Cooper; wrestling’s Ric Flair; hockey legend Wayne Gretzky; World Cup winner Mia Hamm; comedian Bill Murray; and actor Samuel L. Jackson. Golf pros from past years have included such names as John Daly, Fred Couples, Jim Furyk, Nick Faldo and Annika Sorenstam.

Here’s a quick rundown of this year’s scheduled events, most set for the House of Blues at Barefoot Landing and the Dye Club at Barefoot Resort & Golf:

Saturday, April 7: The event is teed up on Saturday evening with a Monday After the Masters Welcome Party on the back deck at the House of Blues. A VIP Badge is required for entry.

Sunday, April 8: Sunday’s activities will include practice rounds at the Dye Club for golfing participants, a participant brunch, a Masters viewing party/silent auction (VIP badge required) and an after-hours gathering at the House of Blues (VIP badge required).

Monday, April 9: The competition gets into full swing on Monday with a VIP breakfast, a celebrity long-drive contest, the Monday After the Masters Tournament, an awards party/reception (VIP badge required), a Hootie & the Blowfish and Friends concert at the House of Blues (VIP or concert badge required), and an after-hours gathering at the House of Blues (VIP badge required) to close things out.
