Now, amid the din of live music and dance clubs, you can hear the sounds of laughter coming from the newest comedy club in town. Located in Broadway’s nightlife district, Carolina Comedy Club brings yet another entertainment venue to the collection of sports bars, dance clubs and daiquiri bars. Featuring a comfortable lounge area centered around the main stage, this comedy club also serves as a popular hangout before and after the nightly shows. Carolina Comedy Club has already drawn some big names from the world of comedy, including headliners such as Gallagher, Ralphie May, Pauly Shore, Tommy Davidson and Chelsea Handler. In addition to the weekly featured performers from the local, regional and national comedy circuits, Carolina Comedy Club also has a pair of standing shows that pack in big crowds. In addition to a full bar, Carolina Comedy Club offers a unique menu that goes beyond the standard comedy club fare, such as the Turkey Apple Swiss Wrap and BBQ Chicken Wontons.

* Comedy Cabana: This stand-alone building on Restaurant Row is the godfather of comedy clubs on the Grand Strand. Laugh factories have come and gone over the years, but Comedy Cabana has stood the test of time for almost 20 years. The long-running performance isn’t a comedic accident. The owners are well-established in the comedy business and have the connections to keep top headliners coming back year after year. Among the many comics to grace the stage are big names like Comedy Central’s Lewis Black, NBC’s “Last Comic Standing” favorite Josh Blue, and legendary “Good Times” star Jimmy “JJ” Walker. The Comedy Cabana hosts two shows nightly, an early bird and night owl, and there’s a side bar outside the main showroom where the comedians hang out between sets and yuck it up with customers. There’s a two-drink minimum, or non-drinkers can have a non-alcoholic beverage and order an appetizer from the kitchen.
