Rivertown Bistro bills itself as an American cuisine and sushi restaurant, but their food is much more inspired than that description conveys. Executive chef Darren Smith has created a menu full of unique flavors. A sesame-seared tuna is served with a wasabi cauliflower puree, a soy bean shiitake sauté and sweet onion ginger marmalade. A pork tenderloin is wrapped in bacon and served with an apple, cranberry, and onion sauté and accented by a maple bourbon gastrique. Even the classic surf and turf gets a special touch with a braised beef short rib pairing with the butter-poached lobster, accompanied by a mac-n-cheese noodle cake and fennel braised cabbage on the side. The menu also includes a range of delicious appetizers and salads along with tempting sushi selections.
And be sure to leave room for dessert! You won’t want to leave without trying the bistro’s old-fashioned blondie, served with peppermint ice cream and crème anglaise, or the coffee tower, a decadent concoction of chocolate cake, white chocolate mousse, toffee anglaise and coffee toffee!
While the dishes mentioned above are found on the dinner menu, Rivertown Bistro is also open for lunch, offering smaller portions of some dinner-menu entrees as well as sushi, salads and sandwiches. With the entire lunch menu priced at $15 or less, lunch at the Rivertown Bistro is a great deal!
