Vacation is supposed to be for relaxing, but trying to organize an outing for a big group can feel more like hard work. It's hard enough to get a family of four to agree on what to do, and when and where to do it; try getting a large group on the same page.

But knowing where to go for a group trip to Myrtle Beach is half the battle, so we have compiled a list of 10 places where the old “the more the merrier” adage applies:

Beach: This one may sound obvious, but so many people believe they have to “go out” to find a good time when the perfect venue is literally in your back yard. Rather than loading everyone into vans for a night out on the town, enjoy an afternoon sunset on the beach with a picnic and games.

Broadway at the Beach: Talk about having something for everyone, Broadway at the Beach can back up that claim. Members of your party can shop at the diverse offering of stores, enjoy the thrill rides at the Pavilion Nostalgia Park or cool off at indoor attractions like Ripley's Aquarium and WonderWorks, or have a nice meal and cold drinks at the many restaurants and bars.

Brookgreen Garden: This place has the space for groups to roam on their own, or travel in a large pack. This former rice plantation in Murrells Inlet is the oldest botanical sculpture garden on the East Coast and highlights the beauty of art and nature. A zoo, butterfly house, Gullah Cultural Center and boat rides provide a wide range of options for diverse groups.

Comedy Clubs: Nothing brings a group together like the magic of laughter, and Myrtle Beach boasts several comedy clubs that can accommodate parties of any size. Make sure you book reservations so the group can sit together. The Comedy Cabana on Restaurant Row draws top national headliners.

Family Kingdom: Amusement parks might not be for everyone, but hanging out in a fun-filled environment for free is hard to find. This downtown park has a variety of rides and attractions, including a waterpark and go-kart track. There's no admission charge, so buy arm bands for the kids while the older folks film the fun and take a stroll down memory lane.

Golf: When in Rome, or in this case Myrtle Beach … you know the rest. With nearly 100 golf courses on the Grand Strand, large groups have lots of options for booking tee times together. Yes, you may have to split into foursomes, but the fun can spill over to the 19th hole.

Myrtle Beach Boardwalk: So some want to shop, some want to catch a free concert, and some want to go to the beach? Make everyone happy with a trip to this 1.2-mile walkway through the downtown district. Lined with attractions, shops, restaurants and, f course, the beach, the Boardwalk also hosts live music five nights a week and a fireworks show on Wednesdays.

Myrtle Beach Pelicans: Take me out to the ball game, and bring everyone else with you. This minor-league team plays its games next to Broadway at the Beach at Pelicans Ballpark, and the more than 5,000-seat stadium can accommodate groups of any size. Check with the ticket office for group rates.

Theaters: Popular venues like the Alabama Theatre, Carolina Opry and The Palace are perfect for large groups. Book a private section or let the group split up and reconnect in the lobby after the show. For dinner and a show, Medieval Times and Pirates Voyage provide great entertainment with a feast fit for a king or a pirate.

Tours: Planning and booking a group tour is probably the best way to keep everyone together and happy. Cruise down the Intracoastal Waterway aboard the Barefoot Princess, explore the back roads of the Lowcountry or visit some of the many historic sites.
