What is a Great Way to Spend September in Myrtle Beach?

It’s not exactly a secret: September in Myrtle Beach is pretty rad.

Rad, in that there are lots of activities to do still, some of the fun things you enjoyed all summer, in fact. But the temperatures cool just enough to keep you happy in the sun without feeling the heat as much as you would in July.

Vacationers in the southeast and beyond know this is a sweet spot in the calendar for a getaway to Myrtle Beach.

If you’ve got some vacation time laying around, consider spending it in a place you love. There’s a great blend of family-friendly fun, activities for couples, and excursions you can do by yourself if you choose.

What’s Myrtle Beach like in September?

In a word: Wonderful. Temperatures don’t often reach the 90s anymore, and a good 80-ish day feels like a day at the beach without wearing you down. Still, use sunscreen, of course. Midday activities are a bit easier, and the nights are pleasant, usually in the low 60s. Most travelers even find the ocean comfortably swimmable.

Myrtle Beach Bike Week Fall Rally

(Sept. 28-Oct. 4)

From Murrells Inlet to the Grand Strand, this is the traditional time and spot for motorcycle enthusiasts to gather for a second rally of the year. Participants meet for breakfast at Plantation Pancake House, then cruise the strip, revisiting old friends, meeting new people, and enjoying the beauty of a fall breeze on a ride. Riders often travel south to Charleston and north to Calabash to enjoy the region, and come home to roost in Myrtle Beach.
