Found just over 11 miles south of the North Beach Plantation resort property, the Broadway at the Beach shopping/dining/entertainment complex is already one of the Grand Strand’s hottest attractions — truly offering something vacationers of all ages and interests. And with the recent addition of The Grumpy Monk to its Celebrity Circle, Broadway is now an even more attractive beach-vacation destination, especially for fans of craft beer.

Building on the popularity of its original Highway 501 location, the Grumpy Monk’s new Broadway digs feature similar offerings in an all-new atmosphere. The main attraction here is the extensive beer list, with a lean toward Carolina brews and a wide range of (rotating) on-tap choices that currently includes:

Lagers/Pilsners — The 6 varieties of Lagers/Pilsners on tap include Myrtle Beach’s own New South Lager, Founders’ Solid Gold Lager,  The Duck-Rabbit’s Schwarzbier and River Rat’s American Kolsch Story.

Ambers/Browns — The half-dozen offerings here include Lazy Magnolia’s Southern Pecan Brown Ale, Munkle Brewing’s 3rd Floor Tripel and Kentucky Bourbon Barrel Ale.

IPAs — Nine different hop-heavy brews are on tap in this category. Among the highlights are Sierra Nevada’s Hoptimum Triple IPA, Evil Twin’s Citra Sunshine Slacker IPA, Revelry’s Poke the Bear Pale Ale and Dogfish Head’s 60 Minute IPA.

Stouts/Porters — Four Stout and Porter suds offerings are available, including Oak Road Brewery’s Coastal Carolina Evening Porter and Check Six’s Harley Pope Imperial Porter.

Whites/Wheats — Highlights among the half-dozen brews on tap in this category include Carolina Brewery’s Sky Blue Kolsch, Westbrook Brewing’s White Thai Witbier and Sierra Nevada’s Kellerweis Hefeweizen.

Fruit Beers/Ciders/Sours — Those looking to quench their thirsts with Fruit Beers, Ciders and Sours will find a range of them on tap here. Highlights among a nine-option list include Westbrook Brewing’s Lemon Cucumber Gose, Bold Rock Hard Cider’s Rosé Cider and D9’s Whiskers on Kittens Sour.

The ample options don’t end there, though. The Grumpy Monk also offers a range of bottled beers, as well as a full dining menu that includes a range of sushi offerings, a long list of appetizers, salads, burgers, wraps, sandwiches, tacos and more. For those looking to enjoy a heavier meal, entrée offerings include steaks, Smothered Chicken and the Calabash Seafood Platter. Further adding to The Grumpy Monk’s appeal, live local music is presented regularly, and Happy Hour specials are offered daily from 4 to 7 p.m.
